Thông qua thành viên AiTi của VFOSSA, tôi vừa có liên lạc với anh
Alexander Zapolsky, chủ tịch Liên đoàn PMNM quốc gia Pháp
(FNILL-http://www.fnill.org/?q=home ), nhà sáng lập và CEO của Cty
chuyên PMNM LINAGORA (http://www.linagora.com/English). Alexandre là một
tài năng trẻ và nổi tiếng ở Pháp về PMTDNM.

Nhân dịp Alexandre sang Việt Nam tham gia hoạt động Diễn đàn Doanh
nghiệp Việt - Pháp nhân kỷ niêm 40 năm thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao Việt
- Pháp tại HN và Tp HCM

mời Alexandre đến gặp gỡ và trao đổi với cộng đồng PMTDNM Việt Nam vào
chiều thứ sáu 12/4/2013 tại địa điểm truyền thống Hội trường IFI (ngõ
42, Tạ Quang Bửu). Thời gian dự kiến từ 16-18h. Sau đó chúng ta sẽ mời
Alexandre đi uống bia FOSS với tất cả thành viên tham dự.

Đây là dịp rất tốt để cộng đồng và các DN FOSS tiếp xúc và trao đổi kinh
nghiệm với một doanh nhân FOSS Pháp thành công. xin kính mời các bạn đến

Alexander Zapolsky (born January, 28th, 1977) is the founder and CEO of
LINAGORA.

In just ten years, he imposed his company as a market leader in Open
Source software publishing in France.

Software developed by LINAGORA is used in the main French
administrations. Its messaging software and groupware, OBM, equips a
very large number of French government institutions (French Ministries
of Finance, Interior, Defense, and the National Gendarmerie), the
Ministry of Culture and Agriculture, along with numerous public
institutions and local authorities.

The company employs about 130 people in France (Paris, Lyon, Toulouse,
Marseille), Belgium (Brussels), and the United States (San Francisco).

Market leader in Europe and member of Worl "TOP 10" of Open Source
Software vendors, LINAGORA is a French champion of innovation and growth.

Innovation: 25% of LINAGORA's turnover is dedicated to R&D. Today with
Alexandre Zapolsky, LINAGORA is the first private investor in Open
Source Software R&D in France. It's a member of three world-renowned
competitiveness clusters: SYSTEMATIC, CAP DIGITAL and SECURE
COMMUNICATION SYSTEME. Furthermore, it participates in several European
research projects.

Its two main R&D projects, gSafe and OpenPaaS, were certified by
“Investissements d'Avenir“ French government investment program in 2012.
That is why the competitiveness cluster SYSTEMATIC has named LINAGORA
its “Champion 2012”.

During 6 consecutive years LINAGORA was a laureate of the Deloitte Fast
50, technology award program that ranks 50 French fastest growing
technology companies, based on revenue growth over the last five years.
It also received the “Anvar” innovation prize in 2005 from OSEO, the
French, innovation-funding public bank. Also note that since 2010,
LINAGORA is a member of OSEO Excellence - Special program reserved for
the 2000 most innovative SMEs in France.

In 2011, Alexandre Zapolsky is the first Open Source Software Company
CEO to be elected to the Board of directors of Syntec NUMERIQUE,
professional syndicate for French digital ecosystem. On this point, he
is the co-chairman of the Open Source Software Committee of Syntec
NUMERIQUE. In January 2013, he initiated the organization of the first
Open Source General Assembly. This first day of round table talks and
discussions was held under the authority of Mrs. Fleur Pellerin,
Minister for Innovation, SMEs and the Digital Economy. This event
gathered over 300 attendees and all major players of French Open Source
industry.

Alexandre Zapolsky represents the Syntec NUMERIQUE at the Permanent
Assembly of MEDEF – the largest union of employers in France. He is also
the president of the National Federation of Open Source Software
Industry (FNILL) which brings together the professionals of Open Source
Software in France.

LINAGORA began its international development since 2007. In 2008
Alexandre participated in the first French Tech Tour in the U.S. Silicon
Valley. Experience renewed in 2012 with his participation in the first
French Tech Tour China in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Kong Kong.

In Autumn 2012, Alexandre co-chaired the working group dedicated to
digital economy during the UTICA (Tunisian confederation of
employers)-MEDEF Meeting in Tunis under the patronage of the Tunisian
Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali. In April 2013, he is going to France-Viet
Business Forum in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

LINAGORA is focused at the moment on CANADA. In Autumn 2012, Alexandre
met the Canadian Prime Minister, Pauline Marois, during her stay in
Paris. From March 13th to 16th , he made part of the official delegation
that accompanied French Prime Minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault, during his
official visit to Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec. And in September
2013, LINAGORA will open its Canadian office in Montreal.

Alexander Zapolsky is often invited to speak on issues relating to the
software industry in France and abroad. Author of numerous articles, he
is considered as one of the greatest expert of the digital market. That
is why he has participated in a working group of the think tank Terra
Nova that wrote the report "Digital: reconnect with progressive values
and boost growth." He has also collaborated on the book "The Republic of
Networks" co-written by Jean Rognetta, Julie Jammot and Frederic Tardy.
He is also the initiator of different events dedicated to this market
such as PARIS CAPITAL DU LIBRE (Paris, the capital of free) or the Open
Source Software Industry Forum (OSSIF).These events aimed to bring
together the ecosystem of Open Source to explore the issues related to
Open Source services and competitiveness of European industry.

Recently he wrote a open letter, published in La Tribune newspaper,
addressed to French government. In this letter he has proposed three
leads of action to help French digital SMEs to export. One of these
proposals was put on the government's digital roadmap.

Alexandre Zapolsky was recognized in 2008 by “Usine Nouvelle” magazine
as one of the "50 Talents that will build the industry of tomorrow", and
in 2012 as one of 100 Champions of the "Digital Economy". In 2010 and in
2012, the magazine “01 INFORMATIQUE” has included Alexandre Zapolsky in
its “TOP 100 Leaders of the Digital Economy”.

The Alexander Zapolsky's passion for open source is completed by some
other interests and commitments. He is an active member of several
circles and networks of entrepreneurs and business leaders (MEDEF,
Syntec NUMERIQUE, IVY Club, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of
Paris). He participates in the work of the Fondation Télécom and is a
member of the Advisory Board of Telecom Business School, he graduated
from on 2000. Very grateful to his old school, Alexandre Zapolsky has
agreed to sponsor the 2012-2015 class. He also supports different
NGOs. For example, LINAGORA has created a secure website for Reporters
without borders, to fight against censorship (www.wefightcensorship.org).

In 2011, Alexander Zapolsky attended the 8th session of the Cycle des
Hautes Etudes pour le Développement Economique (CHEDE) under the
patronage of the Ministers of Economy and Finances. This Postgraduate
Graduate Studies addresses to business leaders, directors of
administrations, journalists, trade unionists, researchers, Members of
Parliament and so on. In November 2012, he was elected president of the
Association of Alumni students of CHEDE. This association has 800 members.

Finally, Alexandre is a rugby fan. He supports Toulon Rugby Club since
ever. He is very proud of his city of birth, Toulon, but it is also very
attached to Tunisia, country of birth of his father, and
Russia, the land of his ancestors.
