The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning(MSIP) and National IT
Industry Promotion Agency(NIPA) are pleased to inform you of K-Startup
Grand Challenge 2016.

MSIP and NIPA aim to promote South Korea as a business hub of Asia by
helping a number of promising startups from around the world.

In line with this goal, K-Startup Grand Challenge 2016 has been
developed to serve as an acceleration/settlement program dedicated to
supporting prominent startups

in their efforts to advance into Korea and many other countries.

Target : overseas startups seeking to expand into the global market
after launching and settling their business in Korea

Areas : open to all areas, but specialized areas will be given priority.

* Games·Fintech, Bio·Beauty, Distribution and Film, Auto, and City life
** Software, IoT, Cloud, Information Security, 5G, UHD, Smart Devices,
Digital Content, and Big Data

Submit your application to K-Startup Grand Challenge 2016 by June 14, 2016.

The benefits granted to the participating startups are as follows:
1. Round-trip airline tickets (for up to three people per team) and
living expenses for three months (KRW 5 million equivalent to US $ 4,100
per team a month)
2. Cash prizes (KRW 200 million equivalent to US $ 166,000 for four
teams) and shared cash prize (KRW 40 million equivalent to U$33,000 for
20 teams, respectively)
3. Exposure to connections with Korea’s large enterprises, such as
Samsung, Hyundai Motor, SK
LG, LOTTE, GS, Hanwha, HANJIN, DOOSAN, KT, CJ, HYOSUNG, kakao and NAVER
4. Access to office and project space in Korea’s Pangyo Techno Valley, a
large innovation center that is home to the country’s most promising
startups as well as large enterprises
5. Enrollment in a three-month session of Korea’s top acceleration
program and follow-up support in terms of investment
6. Help desk services (including assistance with corporation
establishment, visas, and international labor management, residential
and administrative support, translating and interpreting services, etc.)
